Brains Before Nuts.

If you don't know an Ace from a King or you have played for years, this site is for you.

Ace-Five Triple Draw Lowball

Ace-Five Lowball consists of 4 betting rounds and five cards dealt face down to each player just as in 5 Card Draw. However in Ace-Five Lowball you can draw three times which allow for four different bet sessions. One when you receive your first for cards and one each time you draw. Your goal in Ace-Five lowball is to make the lowest 5 cards you can with the Ace being the lowest possible card. So the best possible hand would be Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5. Straights and flushes do not count for anything and they don't hurt you either. If you end up with and Ace, 3, 5, 6, 7 and someone else had the same exact 5 cards but they are all hearts, their hand is equal to yours and in that case the pot would be split in half. Below is a real example of a player's Ace-Five lowball hand during an on-line game.

EXAMPLE HAND

1st Round

Your View.

Opponent's View

This player obviously threw down his pair and his face card but kept his Ace and his 3.

2nd Round

From here he didn't fold even though he still needed 3 cards because no one bet, so he threw down his second 3 along with his King and 10.

Now he was only one card away from a decent hand so he stayed in with Ace, 3, 6, 7, Jack and threw down the Jack for is last draw.

3rd Round

His final hand ened up being an Ace, 3, 5, 6, 7. Or and Ace-7 Low. If his last card would have been any face card or an Ace, 3, 6 or seven, his hand would have been ruined.

4th and Final Round
